Communion

I would have liked to have taken a picture of the disheveled communion table after the worship service this morning, but I was dealing with lower back pain and too slow to get up there before the deacons cleaned it off. But still, I like this picture. It reminds me of Jesus’ blood, given for me, and how He is the light of the world.
I usually look forward to communion and all it symbolizes, but to be honest, today I was mainly consumed with aches and pains of pregnancy. At this point (38 weeks) I welcome the pains because I believe they are moving me toward labor and finally holding my son in my arms. And today in church, he just wanted to poke some angular appendage out my right side. I would push it back, but he seems stubborn and would move again to put it in the same spot.
As far as it being a day of rest, I guess we managed to pull it off. I tried to take a nap, but I was too hot to get into a deep sleep. But as the Super Bowl aired and I put together the nachos and wings, we just came together as a family to enjoy each other and some football.
Tomorrow is a doctor day, so I best be moving on to get ready for that.

That is a beautiful picture. It is so peaceful, restful and nice. Does everyone drink from the same glass? I am not fmiliar with the Presbyteria religion (or the spelling).
God Bless All Four of you,

The cup and pitcher on the table are decorative and what Pastor Cal uses to demonstrate pouring the wine. Cal drinks from it as well, but he is the only one. Some churches have everyone drink out of the same glass, but ours doesn’t. We have the shot glasses with grape juice. It is up to the congregation/ session/ or pastor to determine how to distribute the elements.
