An awesome box that sadly, isn’t mine

I love how blogging gets you to meet new people. And one of those people I have met in my years of blogging is my friend Drew (and his wife Allison) of BenSpark. He’s a talented photographer, busy blogger, and a traveling fool of a businessman. This makes us compatible as friends because I too am a photographer, busy blogger, and a traveling fool of a stay-at-home-mom (which makes the stay at home part kind of irrelevant).
Drew has plenty of contests on his blogs and his most recent contest is asking people to guess what is in BenSpark’s Big Box of Awesome. Basically people leave comments with their guesses. But I’m not satisfied guessing. Nope, I have to cheat and peek.

It’s Drew’s Photo-A-Day Calendar! And it’s so awesome because 1) it is the best twelve of Drew’s 2008 photo-a-day pictures, 2) Drew is selling them to raise money for his family’s Relay for Life team, and 3) it’s for 2009, which is coming up very, very fast!
I have to tell you, I am seriously considering my own photo-a-day project for 2009. And my mantra is becoming, “If Drew can do it, so can I.” We used to do one of Fuller every day, but it got tossed due to laziness. With a new baby coming, we might have grandparents demanding we start up the project in some way. And if Drew can do it, so can I… right?
Anyway, back to the contest. Now that I have done the dirty work and peeked, you have a legitimate guess to leave on this entry of Drew’s contest. And there are other ways to enter the contest. Check it out:
How to gain entry into the contest:
* Contest open to US mailing addresses only. Sorry.
* MAIN RULE – Leave a comment making a guess as to what is inside BenSpark’s Big Box of Awesome (you don’t have to be right), there are many things. (remember if this rule is not followed then no others will count)
* 1 Extra Entry – Subscribe to Drew’s RSS feed or by email (or let me know if you already are) in a separate comment
* 1 Extra Entry – Stumble his post (sociable icons are at the bottom of the post) and leave your Stumble name (Drew will be checking, and like Santa, probably checking twice!) in a separate comment
* 1 Extra Entry – Favorite The BenSpark in Technorati (sociable icons are at the bottom of his post) and leave your name (again, Drew will be checking!) in a separate comment
* 1 Extra Entry – Follow Drew on Twitter (he’s @benspark) and let him know your Twitter name in a separate comment
* 1 Extra Entry – Post this link to Facebook let him know in a separate comment
* 1 Extra Entry – Tweet this “RT What is in @benspark ’s Big Box of Awesome? Find out here http://urlbrief.com/5aa757 leave him the link to the tweet in a separate comment
* 2 Extra Entries – Write a post on your blog linking to his blog. Let him know the link in a separate comment
Yes, that is correct you leave up to eight comments and can get nine entries.
I don’t feel guilty at all for peeking, because I’m not the only one who did it. (No, I wouldn’t jump off the Walnut Street Bridge if my friends were doing it, but only because there would probably be no prize.)
Loretta peeked and found something green.
Trevor did his own snooping and found some things hard and rockin’.
Heather was sneaky and got a look at Ted’s Head.
Corrin took advantage of some time Drew wasn’t looking (he was probably taking pictures of Eva) and discovered Boys are Smelly.
I’m behind in my entries, so I better get over there soon. The contest ends December 17th at noon EST.

Alli,
A perfect post on the Contest. I think that the calendar should draw many people into entering. And you should certainly do the Photo-A-Day thing. Do it!

Great post. Drew actually inspired my photoblog, because I was reading his blog before starting mine in Jan 08. You can do it too.
