Resting better
Posted by Alli on November 20, 2008
I’m really happy to report I am sleeping better these nights. I have been using the Breathe Right Strips and it helps me get a better start at sleeping each night.
I say I “get a better start” because I usually wake up for one of three or four bathroom breaks and find the strip is halfway off my nose. Apparently my nose skin type is so oily, it works against the adhesive and doesn’t let me keep it on all night. I promise I wash my face before going to bed, don’t use moisturizer (which I should), and make sure my nose is really dry before applying the strip.
When I wake up and go back to bed, I am no longer fighting to breathe, so I fall back to sleep a lot faster, making for more ZZZZs and a higher quality of sleep.
Since my sleep is better than what I was getting, I’m feeling a bit more perky these mornings. Less crying and more energy. I still want to nap during quiet time, but these past two days I was able to complete some nagging projects, which also makes me less stressed.
So, yeah for better sleep and a happier Momma. I think it will make for a much better final trimester. I mean, I only gets easier from here, right?

well, sorta better. in some ways the old adage is true – “it has to get worse before it can get better.” i think god makes the final weeks of pregnancy so bad so that we will do anything to get that baby out!
but once you make it through those final weeks you will have your new baby to enjoy – and that is the definite better!

That made me laugh, “i think god makes the final weeks of pregnancy so bad so that we will do anything to get that baby out!” I can remember the misery of the last few weeks when I was pregnant with Fuller, I almost begged to be induced a week early. My doctor talked me off that ledge.
