Passed, Win, Score- it’s all good

This morning I conquered the orange syrup.
Last time, the glucose had an unfair advantage because it was mingling with sugars already in my system. Sugars from pumpkin pie bread and pumpkin spice coffee creamer. The glucose won our last match when I had a blood sugar of 163.
Today, the match started with me fasting for twelve hours and a fasting blood sugar of 91. AND instead of 5 ounces of the orange syrup, I had to climb a higher mountain and drink 10 ounces. It took me fifteen minutes to drink it. Some of that time was taken up with me trying to take pictures of me drinking it, but my fasting state left me a little shaky and those pictures have been deleted.
If you aren’t familiar with the test, it goes like this:
During the hour between drinking and testing I had the strange feeling of being motion sick without the benefit of being in a moving vehicle. It was the longest hour of the test. My first sugar test came back with the number of 180. The tech told me if I had been one point higher, it would have been bad.
Time passed faster as I started to feel better, read my book, and listen to my iPod. When I went back another hour later, it was down to 134. At this point the tech was all smiles and said I still had to complete the test, but I had already passed. My final blood sugar was 111.
So, I think for this match-up, I get two points for drinking 10 ounces and still whipping glucose’s butt. I win! Score!
The next hurdle is the ultrasound next Tuesday to see where the placenta is hanging out. Please pray it has cleared up.

Good news on your test, and I’ll be thinking and praying that your next hurdle is no longer an issue.
