My grandbaby was delivered by c section at 27 weeks due to placenta previa. He weighed 2lbs 4oz and seemed to be fine. After a week he developed problems with his small intestine which required surgery and now at 3 weeks he has developed another problem with fluid in his head applying pressure to his brain. Tomorrow he will be needing surgery to have a shunt. The doctors tell us that he will make it although he is having a rough road to travel. He is our miracle baby. Good advice is to listen to your doctor and take extra care of yourself. Take all measures of care for the care of your baby and all should be fine.

I admit I googled it when you first mentioned it and thought “OMG, that’s so scary!”

I’m glad they caught it all early and that you have a curious mind! Congrats to Amanda on the baby auction! I bid as much as I could cause I wanted to know LOL looking forward to the big official what you’re having announcement!

I know several people who had placenta previa and had perfectly normal pregnancies, so don’t worry about it too much. None of theirs corrected themselves, so they ended up with C-sections. However, everybody was healthy, and that’s all we can ask.

You know, I didn’t notice the similarities in head shape until you said that. We are partial to Fuller’s very round head, so I’m happy with that comparison.
