Self Portrait Sunday: Attempt to do it right

Self Portrait Sunday: Fail

I’m not really happy with this picture, but if you saw my other pictures, well, this is the best one.

I need experiment more with my DSLR to get the remote to work on it. I can’t seem to get the self timer to work with the auto focus and it is getting frustrating. And I am so used to my Canon’s flip out LCD screen to help with the framing, I need to just practice more with the DSLR.

I also need to remember to clean my glasses before taking these pictures (I’m amazed I can see), and mop up the oil from my face. Pregnancy is screwing with my face now, which was not a challenge when I was pregnant with Fuller. But then again, someone at church did tell me today I was glowing. I bit my tongue and just told them thanks, but really the glow is coming from the excess oil I seem to be generating.

Any other Self Portraits out there? Head over to Cass’s and see some for yourself!

I like it! You look serious, a little pensive…and mysterious!

I hate it when I take a bunch of pictures and have to choose the lesser of the evils! And I’m constantly thinking my glasses need cleaned! That being said, I think this is a matter of being our own critics because I think this is a good picture. You look a little… tired? frustrated? but other than that…

I always take several pictures before choosing one, so I feel you. I always forget about the timer option on the camera as well. I think you’re looking great though :)

you look like you’re about to fix my hair or something :-)

and I agree, you had some special “glow” or something going on at church yesterday. I was too timid to say it at the time, but better bloggy than never, right?

I like it! I’m with Petra - mysterious and pensive about describes. I’m totally relating to the dirty glasses dilemma, though. I usually don’t notice until the photo has been online for days, then suddenly all I can see is the smeary fingerprints or even dog slobber on my lenses, lol!

I can’t ever seem to get a real “self portrait” to work. I cheat every time. You do look a but tired, but not more so than you should for a pregnant mom with an active toddler.
