Cad e an sceil a buachail? means “What’s the rumpus?” It is also the title of the new album (and song) by Gaelic Storm and I was happy to see them perform yesterday afternoon at the Dayton Celtic Festival. (You may have seen them in a little film called Titanic.)
I took plenty of pictures of the afternoon, which picked me up out of a pregnancy funk where I wanted to cry over my swelling feet. But! This isn’t a whine about my pregnancy blog.
Anyway, being introduced to modern Celtic/ World music group was a lot of fun. They had excellent energy, fun stories (like punching Russell Crowe in the face), and very catchy songs. “What’s the Rumpus,” “The Night I Punched Russell Crowe,” “Kiss me, I’m Irish,” and “Born to be a Bachelor” were several of my favorites. I see an iTunes purchase or two in my future. Until then, I’ll just enjoy what I have here:
