Best Shot Monday: From the Hip
Posted by Alli on June 2, 2008
There are times I take pictures without ever looking through the view finder or LCD screen. Last week when Fuller and I were making cookies, I was really concentrating on making sure Fuller wasn’t getting shell in the egg yolk. Off to the side I had the camera in my hand, finger on the shutter, and pressed away.
When I saw this, I knew it was a keeper. I love the focus on the egg, with the fuzzy details of Fuller breaking his first egg.

That’s a fantastic shot! It couldn’t be much better if you’d carefully planned and composed it. I like shooting that way, too, and it’s fun to see the surprising gems that emerge!

Cracking the first egg ever…what a treasured memory this shot will be! I love the other photos too from the making cookies link, especially the last one with the end product…so cute. I started out with my daughter making cookies when she was little, and now she LOVES to cook and bake. Such a great thing to do with kids! Really nice shot!

Way cool. We have eggs most mornings, so this is a familiar sight. Very clever.

I love that shot, how funny, I took pictures of my son with eggs this weekend too. Only the pictures didn’t turn out well and the egg were hard boiled – we were eating them.
that is a perfect shot!
