Online Craft Club: Joseph’s Coat Bag

JosephYesterday I went to a friend’s house with some other women in my church to help her with a sewing project. She had volunteered to make over 20 (I can’t remember if it was 30 or more) of these bags called Joseph’s coat. A friend of hers is the head of Agape Puppet ministry and they give the bags to kids all over the world.

Jessica, my friend, had reached a hump in her project, needing more hands on deck to move past it. When she asked for help at Mom’s Group she said all you have to do is sew a straight line and my hand shot up. “I can sew a straight line!”

It was a fun morning project, hanging with friends and helping make these neat bags. We didn’t finish the entire project, we just helped her move past the hurdle.

I asked her to demonstrate the bag on video so I could share here. I just think they are really neat. Each color helps tell the story of Joseph.

[...] Yep, Friday again. This time, I wasn’t shocked. I looked at the calendar when I was trying to figure out when I was getting paid so I could pay bills, and then I applied that knowledge to my crafting, LOL! I did notice that Alli beat me posting this morning. She’s made a perky little Joseph’s bag. [...]

How are these made? And what is the story line used for them? We are doing a Joseph themed Music Camp this summer and think these would be great.

    Domekia,

I am sorry, but I have no idea how to put one together from start to finish. It was a bit complicated for me to grasp, which is why it was great I got to help with only one step. You could probably contact Agape Puppet Ministry (she goes to Highland’s Pres, I believe) to see if she would help with the pattern.
