The future of my shutter

I tried to take a picture of myself for Self Portrait Sunday, but I wasn’t happy with any of them. Mainly it was a wash out due to the flash that really made me look unlovely. And without the flash I had a ton of noise that really detracted from my beauty.
I have determined that sometime soon in the new year I will be purchasing a DSLR. I have pushed my point and shoot to the limit in the last year. I have really been bitten by the photography bug and know the next step is to cross over the line I was scared to cross last year- I have to conquer the world of the DSLR.
And then I should really be able to have some sweet self portrait pictures each Sunday.
