title pic Ouch

I was doing good things today, online and off. But once I put the kid down for his nap, the time of the day when I should really be rocking and rolling (no longer being interrupted every ten minutes for juice or help with trains), it seemed like things just got worse.

First I wanted to roomba the dining room. So I took the roomba outside to clean it with the air compressor. When I stepped into the workshop I stepped on a nail. I was wearing my crocs, but the material isn’t exactly nail proof. It went straight through the shoe and into my foot. And getting it out wasn’t easy since the nail was still stuck in some wood and that wood was wrapped up in a plastic bag.

My best friend Esther asked me if I swore and surprisingly I didn’t. I did let an F-bomb fly on IM later, but when it actually happened, I kept my cool. I tended the wound, called my husband, called my mommy, then called the doctor. Then I found out I have to go to the health department and I have to wait until tomorrow since they only give tetanus shots from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. When I called them, it was 3:09 p.m.

Stepping on a nail isn’t something I recommend, wearing shoes better than crocs is something I do recommend.
