Pure Pearls

If you met me, I would hope you would think I was a very simple person. I don’t dress up a lot (but I like to look nice) and I don’t do “fancy” when it comes to makeup and jewelry. What I have are staples.
When I dress up I choose between a few necklaces and earrings. I have special pearls I wear for special occasions. I have freshwater pearls I received for my 18th birthday and for our first Christmas, Damon gave me pearl earrings. When I wear them I think of the end of The Hotel Concert chapter in Anne of Green Gables.
“Well, I don’t want to be any one but myself, even if I go uncomforted by diamonds all my life,” declared Anne. “I’m quite content to be Anne of Green Gables, with my string of pearl beads. I know Matthew gave me as much love with them as ever went with Madame the Pink Lady’s jewels.”

I’m glad I have a full pearl collection but I know there is room in my jewelry box for even more.
