I’ve been doing a bit of online browsing lately, looking for a new bread machine. I love online browsing because taking a three year old shopping is becoming more and more of a chore. And when it comes to making a major purchase like a new bread machine or shoes, it usually requires a clear head. Answering “What you doin’ Mommy?” ten times in the space of 30 seconds does not help keep your head clear.
My process for online browsing usually starts with a stop at ebates. I figure if I am going to be online shopping, I might as well try to save money. I sort the rebates list to have the highest one listed as the top. I go store by store to see what I can find.
When I see something I like, I head over to epinions to see if that particular product has been reviewed by average Joes. The cover all kinds of products. People will post reviews on everything from digital cameras to radar detector reviews and yes, bread machines.
I usually do a comparison spreadsheet to keep track of products, online locations, and cost. Eventually my online browsing will become online shopping.
How do you do your online browsing?
