For me?
Posted by Alli on October 2, 2007
My birthday is coming up in just over a month. In years past I have had difficulty answering the question, “What do you want for your birthday?” mainly because I never really focus on myself and my wants. I tend to want things for other people or the house. Or, if I do want something I don’t speak up for myself because I thought I wasn’t worth it.
I have been changing that last sentence in recent months. I know I am worth it and sometimes bits and baubles just for me are ok.
On Sunday I did some fun shopping at Blue Skies, looking for a gift for my sister-in-law. While I was there I saw so many things I would have liked but one thing stood out- the vintage typewriter key necklaces and bracelets. I thought they had a classic, simple look (like me!) and since necklaces are a piece a jewelry I actually wear, I would be good for me! But since the price (with chain) was $42, I refrained from buying one.
Instead I took a look around the internet and sure enough, found someone on Etsy who makes them custom for her customers.
So there you go, something I would like for me and me only, and a birthday coming up quickly.
I’m just saying.
