Well, I was able to somehow get our family organized, packed, and off to Florida without a hitch. I forgot the iPod, but that is something we can survive without. I was also able to live without the bottoms to my swim suit because my mom took me to an outlet store where I picked up a $16 swimsuit the first morning we were there. Also forgotten was Damon’s black belt for Sunday, but the world did not collapse on itself so it was no big deal.
Our Florida time was divided between visiting with family and some alone time for Damon and me. The family time was full of Baby Genevieve, my new niece, and just hanging out. Since my sister had a c-section she still couldn’t do too much we stayed in her apartment and watched the baby cry. Sometimes we took Fuller swimming.
Actually my parents put us up in a nearby hotel where we would be able to give the little family some space and have some of our own. I thought it was really nice of them and helped remove some of the stress of so many people in a small place.
When Damon and I took off for Orlando on Monday, we left Fuller in the capable hands of my parents. I got choked up several times, especially when we were ending our day on Tuesday. The kids areas of Universal Islands of Adventure would have been a blast for Fuller, so I look forward to the day we get to take Fuller there ourselves.
I think the whole trip went very smoothly, making it an enjoyable and memorable long weekend. And now that we are back I was able to pick up where I left off- with my organized list and chores ready to start yesterday. I finished all the laundry yesterday and today I move on to putting away luggage and cleaning. I have to fit some baking in since we have no sandwich bread.
