Online Craft Club: Laptop Sleeve

Friday was the first get together of the Online Craft Club and I missed the meeting! Ok, it wasn’t an actual meeting, but I didn’t post a picture about my project.
But! I did have a project and I did take pictures. I just didn’t get the pictures up until today.
I am so very new to sewing, so this project is something I am very proud of. Unfortunately I deleted my picture of the finished product, had to give it to my sister since I didn’t measure precisely, and now have to make another one to fit my laptop. But I did learn about sewing without the foot on the machine (not easy), learned how to change the needle, and successfully filled a bobbin.
I have plans to make a new sleeve this week and attempt to make a backpack for Fuller to take on our trip. I am drawing up plans for it, so maybe I will be more successful at this plan.

Is this something you use to carry your laptop with you? I sew, but I never even thought about making anything like this and wound up buying a satchel to put mine in when I take it with me.
