Monday organization
Posted by Alli on September 10, 2007
In August I started a new system to help me stay organized and on top of my house work. I have a problem with getting sucked into things (the internet, playing with Fuller, a craft project) and then being a bit out of sorts with accomplishing chores or remembering to get dinner ready. Often times I feel so overwhelmed with what needs to be done that I have no idea what actually needs to be done.
My organization is pretty simple: I make a list. Actually, I make several lists but the one I have been heavily relying on is a printed out weekly schedule I write on at the beginning of the week. Each day has a space for what we will have for dinner. And I write out chores I should accomplish each day. If we have an appointment, I add that to the day as well.
I posted the schedule on a magnet board in the kitchen. Someday I would like a whole message center that allows me to not only put up the schedule but to have Mailboxes for each family member for important papers, incoming mail, and other pertinent info.
Yesterday evening I mapped out our week, so I don’t feel lost waiting for Thursday when I need to get packing for Florida. I hope this week goes smoothly and quickly!
How do you stay organized?
