I have an iPod shuffle. The 512mb version and is as big as a pack of Wrigley’s gum. I got it for free via a promotion for Audible and I love it. But, I do long for more in my mobile entertainment.
Yesterday I twittered that I wish I had finished the project of ripping all our CDs to our media drive. It would have been a lot easier to do a search for Ann-Margaret with my computer than it was to dig through the CD cases to finally find her. It was fun to look at the CDs and see some of the music I forgot we had. I also realized a lot of the CDs are soundtracks to different movies (St. Elmo’s Fire, The Flintstones, Swing Kids).
Well, I could spend the gazillion hours ripping all my CDs or I could pay someone to do it. I will probably end up doing it myself.
But I am now tempted to do it even faster because I may be buying a new iPod touch in the next few months. I saw a quick glimpse of it on the Today show this morning, but had to turn my attention toward the toddler breakfast demands. I just checked it out online and I think it is sweet!
It depends on cash flow, but I have been wanting a better iPod for a while. And with all the features of the new iPod touch, I could possibly leave my laptop at home when I head off on trips. I used to have a Treo for work, so I am used to blogging from small devices. And for the record, I prefer this to the iPhone because if it were not for my sister, I wouldn’t even have a cell phone.
Time to start pinching pennies!
