title pic Wishes granted

Posted by Alli on September 3, 2007

Today we are not packing up and we are not driving for four or more hours. Instead we are staying put for one more night. I am thrilled!

The weekend has been so relaxing and really makes me want to stay here for a few more days. But I know that eventually we have to return to Chattanooga to pick up the normal routine.

One of the extraordinary features of this weekend was the visit from my sister and the gift she gave me. This weekend my sister taught me how to sew!

She was wanting to complete some baby gift projects while she relaxed here this weekend and I mentioned to her my desire to learn to sew. So while she worked on the baby gifts (decorating burp clothes with fabric applique), I watched and then did my own.

After getting a couple applique projects done, I moved on to another project. I wanted to make an apron, since I only have one. I love aprons and have wanted to make more for myself. So I took to cutting a pattern and using it to complete my first garment project!

We have a sewing machine at home and it has been used by only my husband. But I think it might get some more use from me. I just might become a crafting machine after all!

A great weekend, two wishes granted- staying a bit longer and getting over my fear of the sewing machine. Good weekend!
