The heat is on

It is difficult to think about winter right now, especially since last week the temperatures were in the 100s, but as I look at the calendar and admit Christmas will be here before we know it, I admit I wonder when the cool weather will actually hit us.
Since it is cooler now, we have turned off the A/C in an effort to save money and energy. And I know that my husband will insist that we wait as long as possible to turn on the heat when the fall/ winter weather firmly arrives. Again, it is a save money and energy thing. And we can always put on more layers.
One of his methods of keeping his family warmer is to run space heaters. There are so many heaters out there, from wall heaters to vent free garage heaters, to large space heaters to tiny space heaters (I had one when I was working and the cubicles were the same temperature as my fridge).
When D wanted to buy space heaters to the house, I had some issues and fears. But because of the temperature gages, turning off when the room is warm enough, I felt a little better. I wish we had an electric fireplace so it looks inviting, but I guess we will stick with the small plastic boxes for now.
And we will happily keep the sunny temps for now. I am not ready to pull out the sweaters just yet.
