title pic The tooth fairy won’t want this

Posted by Alli on July 19, 2007

Today was a day I was dreading- a trip to the dentist to get one of my baby teeth pulled.

When I had my wisdom teeth pulled I remember waking up during the removal of the last tooth and feeling a very yucky suction release as the last tooth came out. I was dreading that feeling this time.

I wasn’t prepared for the pressure or the crunching (TMI?).

I cried when I got back to my husband’s office, where Fuller was waiting for me. It just all felt so weird. And now I feel a bit sluggish from the Tylenol 3 which is helping me with the pain that came on full force around 3 pm when the numbness and the first Tylenol 3 pill wore off.

The dentist gave me the tooth in a little blue box. I asked for it because I thought I would post a picture of it, but since seeing it I have decided against showing you the ugliness of that baby tooth. It had a filling and a new cavity in the side hole plus the ugliness of the roots gross me out. It’s appearance also made me rethink demanding the tooth fairy visit me for the first time since I was 10. (I was hoping for enough money to buy something shiny for myself.)

I don’t have to go back until my next cleaning in the fall, so for now I have to get used to this gaping hole in my mouth. Just call me Hillbilly Alli. And pray the other baby teeth stay healthy.
