A little corner of my own

I took a trip to Ikea on Friday. I scored this new laptop desk from their As-Is showroom. I didn’t realize that when you go up the escalator to the showroom area that the first three rooms are all set up with As-Is furniture. The laptop desk was sitting in the second one. I didn’t bother picking it up until after we had finished exploring the second floor, when I knew that I should go ahead and take it with me.
I went with my BFF, Esther. She had never been to Ikea and she has a mini-van to help me bring back the big furniture that I went down specifically to get.
Like I have mentioned before, being in harmony with the space that I am in seems to be important to my moods and activity. While I think I should be able to function at any level regardless of my environment, when I am in the same environment day after day, it starts to affect me.
Adding furniture, material stuff, to our lives gets us a little bit closer to the “a place for everything and everything in its place” life goal. I find boxes to put clutter in helps immensely.
This laptop desk gives me a bit a proportion for how I work. And now I can claim it as a space of my own and have some harmony again. (And yes, I have left the price tag on. I’m just a bit funny that way.)
